Green Action Week India-2022 : Mayor appreciates organizing Stakeholders Consultancy Meet

A workshop on reducing waste through community partnerships was organized to make the Green Action Week India-2022 program a success at the initiative of CUTS International. Honorable Mayor Dehradun Sunil Uniyal Gama, as the chief guest in the workshop, appreciated the efforts of Cuts International and Abhivyakti Society for organizing the event.
District Panchayati Raj Officer MM Khan said that the waste should be disposed of at home itself. He explained in detail about the various ways to manage the waste generated from the house. He also informed about the positive experiments being done in many cities regarding waste management.
Naveen Kumar Sadana, the manager of the West Warrior organization, shared the work of West Warrior while congratulating the organizers of the workshop. He informed that a plastic management center has been set up by the organization in Dhanaula village of Sahastradhara area. Plastic waste from about seven villages will be disposed of in this center.
On this occasion, subject experts Bharat Sharma of Doon Nature Association, Neeraj Kathait of Uttarakhand Pollution Control Board, Arif Khan Manager of Book Bank etc. also shared their experiences.
At the conclusion of the workshop, Block Development Officer Raipur Chakradhar Semwal rewarded the school children for the activities organized by the institution in the past. Abhivyakti’s chairperson, Damini Mamgain, thanked everyone involved in the workshop. Chatar Singh Negi conducted the workshop.
On this occasion Geetanjali Dhoundiyal of Abhivyakti Society, Dr. Laxmi Mishra, Waseem Khan, school children, people from the garbage collection community and women associated with self-help groups were present.
