Rishikesh: THDC INDIA LIMITED (THDCIL)and North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO) are on the top of the team event with 05 points each of the day 02 of23rd Inter Power Sector Undertakings (ICPSU) Chess Tournament organized by THDCIL.
Rural Electrification Corporation(REC), POWERGRID, Bhakhra Beas Management Board (BBMB) are at second position with 04 points each and Ministry of Power (MOP) is at third Position with 03 points. IVth and final round is scheduled to be played on 08.09.2017. Presently, in individual events IIIrd round is under progress and total 06 rounds will be played in this category.
It is to mention that THDCIL is organizing this tournament from 05.09.2017 to 08.09.2017 at Rishikesh under the aegis of Power Sports Control Board (PSCB), Ministry of Power, Govt. of India.
Total 10 teams viz. Ministry of Power (MOP), Central Electricity Authority (CEA), Power Finance Corporation (PFC), Rural Electrification Corporation (REC), POWERGRID, NHPC, BBMB, NEEPCO, POSOCO and host THDCINDIA LIMITED (THDCIL) are participating in this tournament. Tournament is being carried out under the guidance of officials of Delhi Chess Federation.
Earlier on 05.09.2017 Sh. S.K. Biswas, Director(Personnel), THDCIL inaugurated and declared the tournament open. Sh. H.L. Arora, ED(OMS,QA& Safety), Sh. R.K. Vishnoi, ED(Design), Sh. Vijay Goel, GM(P&A/CC) and the officials of Delhi Chess Federation were present in the opening ceremony.
